About us

We are an independent hosting provider based in Kranj, Slovenia. We operate a compact, carefully managed infrastructure for customers in Slovenia and the surrounding region, with a focus on reliability, technical competence and clear communication. As a small team, we prioritise stability and quality over marketing and rapid expansion. Our aim is to be a provider you can rely on and talk to directly, with a clear understanding of both your applications and the infrastructure behind them.

Background and Experience

Our background is in software development, DevOps, system administration, networking and virtualization. Over the years, we have designed and operated Linux-based production environments, built CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments for a variety of services. We also have experience running workloads on large cloud platforms such as AWS, which has shaped our approach to reliability, monitoring and incident response.

This mix of development and infrastructure knowledge influences how we design and run MMITech's own platform: we favour clear, well-understood architectures, proven technologies and realistic promises over unnecessary complexity or buzzwords.

Who We Serve?

MMITech primarily serves customers in Slovenia and the wider region around it. Many of our clients are businesses, teams and developers who benefit from having their services hosted locally, with low latency and predictable performance.

Because we understand both infrastructure and applications, we often work with customers who need more than just "a server"; they need a partner who can think about how compute, storage, networking and software fit together in a practical, maintainable way. Our size allows us to remain approachable and responsive, while still maintaining professional standards in how we operate.

Who We Serve?

Services and Platforms

We provide a range of hosting and cloud services designed to cover common needs without overcomplicating them. Our Cloud VPS platform offers flexible virtual servers suitable for web applications, internal systems and development environments. For organisations that need shared file access and collaboration, we offer Nextcloud-based storage, combining a familiar interface with a robust backend. For workloads that require full control of resources and very predictable performance, we operate dedicated servers based on AMD platforms, where the entire machine is reserved for a single customer.

In practice, many deployments combine these building blocks. Some projects run entirely on Cloud VPS instances; others use dedicated servers for performance-critical services and Cloud VPS or Nextcloud for supporting components and data. Our role is to help you choose a structure that reflects your actual requirements rather than forcing everything into a single pattern.

Services and Platforms Services and Platforms

Storage and Redundancy

We are explicit about how redundancy is implemented in our platform. Cloud VPS and Nextcloud storage run on a Ceph-based distributed storage system. In everyday terms, this means your data on these platforms is stored across multiple disks and nodes, so the failure of a single disk or individual machine does not automatically lead to data loss. This design is intended for workloads where resilience and continuity are important.

Dedicated and AMD servers are different by design: they are single, stand-alone machines with local storage. They are well suited for scenarios where you want direct control, simple architecture or you plan to implement redundancy at the application level, for example through database replication, clustering or external backups. We do not describe these servers as having built-in storage redundancy at the platform level, because that would not be accurate. Instead, we explain clearly how they work and how they can be combined with other components to achieve the level of resilience you need.

Our Small Data Center

MMITech operates its own small data center in Kranj, Slovenia. Although it is modest in size compared to large multi-hall facilities, it is purpose-built for hosting and designed with redundancy where it matters. The environment is organised and monitored, with cooling and power infrastructure arranged for continuous operation, and network equipment and cabling laid out cleanly to support reliable service and straightforward maintenance.

Physical access to the data center is controlled and protected by an alarm system. We do not have round-the-clock on-site security staff or the scale of a hyperscale campus, and we consider it important to be clear about that. At the same time, we maintain a professional, well-kept environment that provides the level of reliability and control that many small and medium-sized projects, businesses and development teams require. Our goal is not to impress with size, but to provide a clean, transparent and dependable technical foundation.

How We Work?

The way we work is based on realism and clear communication. When we discuss architecture, capacity or performance, we focus on what a configuration can reliably deliver rather than on theoretical maximums. If we believe that a particular workload needs more resources, a different layout or an additional layer of redundancy, we say so directly. When you contact us for support, you reach people who work with the systems every day and understand how they are built.

In the event of an incident, our priority is to restore normal operation, analyse what happened and adjust where needed. We explain the situation, the steps taken and the measures put in place to reduce the chance of a repeat. Over time, this approach builds trust and allows us to have long-term relationships with our customers rather than purely transactional ones.

Is MMITech the right fit for you?

MMITech is a suitable choice if you value practicality, technical competence and honesty. Hosting your services in Slovenia or the surrounding region can provide low latency and clear data locality, while working with a smaller provider means your infrastructure is not just one of many anonymous deployments. If you prefer straightforward explanations, realistic expectations and a partner who understands both the software and the platform it runs on, our way of working may align well with your needs.
